2008 Flower Judging Team

The Cal Poly Flower judging team won the 67th Annual National Intercollegiate Floral Crop Quality Evaluation Contest held at University of Wisconsin-Platteville in early April. Cal Poly had 8630 points out of a possible 9200 and the three team members placed first, second, and third overall all for individual awards. Joel was also first place individual in cut flowers followed by Kim and David.  Coach:  Virginia Walter.

 The students also competed in the floral design contest held the next day. Kim and David both placed first in their divisions, and Joel and Natalia
were third in their divisions.  Melinda Lynch helped prepare the students for their design work.

 The Floral Judging Team is the National Champion for the third year in a row!
