Sweet Lane Nursery, a beautiful 10 acre wholesale
nursery sitting on 48 acres at the base of Sonoma Mountain, is looking to
hire a company manager experienced in the day-to-day operations. With a
staff of 12 people, Sweet Lane specializes in specimen plant material and we
are looking for a talented individual with nursery and managerial experience
of 5-10 years to take charge of the nursery and help formulate future
growth. Being bilingual (Spanish & English) is essential. Marketing and
sales experience are also required.

Will work under the direction of Fish Habitat Specialist and PSCW
Dept. on the San Luis Obispo County Native Plant
Propagation/Greenhouse Project (NPPP). |

Will work under the direction of Fish Habitat Specialist in support
of NPPP to organize and facilitate a work plan to start up a working
native plant propagation nursery.
This may include but not limited to:

Order materials for
greenhouse restoration and propagation supplies
·
Direct greenhouse repairs
and consult with colleagues on propagation design needs
·
Irrigation installation
·
Collect and plant native
seed and cuttings |

Manage all facets of day to day operations of nursery which may
include:

Directing CCC corpsmembers
·
Irrigation maintenance
·
Greenhouse maintenance
·
Compost/soil maintenance

Plant maintenance |

Strive to achieve deliverable goals outlined in the ARRA Funded San
Luis Obispo County Native Plant Propagation/Greenhouse Project |

Train Corpsmembers in proper native plant propagation techniques |

Attend Stakeholder meetings, attend trainings, classes and
conferences as needed, participate in CCC sponsored activities such
as Unity Days, community meetings, Banquets, etc… |

Description
Develop working relationships with growers in the local area. Provide agronomic recommendations on crops that include but not limited to Crop Protection Products, Fertility Programs, and Soil Amendments. Service the grower’s requirements that may include soil sampling, applications of soil amendments, research plot work and collection of Yield Data.
Qualifications
· Agricultural based experience
· Strong understanding of agronomic crop growing practices
· Existing sales experiences a plus
· Current consultant license
· Valid Oregon Drivers License with good driving record
· Be able to perform physical tasks in a field environment
· Able to operate an ATV

Viticulture Instructor/Vineyard Manager Position available in Wamego, Kansas: Highland Community College is seeking a Viticulture Instructor/Vineyard Manager at its center n Wamego, Kansas. The successful candidate will teach in introductory course(s) in Viticulture and manage the College’s newly created 2-acre instruction/research vineyard. Other teaching is possible depending on the candidate’s degree.
Requirements: Candidates with a Viticulture degree are preferred, but persons with degrees in agriculture, biology, chemistry, or botany and an interest in Viticulture are encouraged to apply. Master’s degree preferred; bachelor’s accepted. Applicants must be eligible for employment in the United States without sponsorship.
